Bancroft & Company, essentially a California-specific version of the regular mass produced pocket diaries from the period, with a 36 page printed almanac in the front containing a list of dates of Chinese festivals, 1875-6, a Hebrew calendar, a list of public buildings, fire stations, and hack fares in San Francisco, and many other regionally specific details. This copy has been filled in by a farmer from Sacramento county. Nearly every day has an entry, though most are rather short: examples can be seen in the item images.
