Description: I have another one of these and bought this one for my brother, who never used it. I've loved mine. It is small and light (about 1lb and folds down to 19.5 inches) for hiking yet nicely holds my heavy z9 and a 500mm telephoto. It can be used in tight spaces. I find that using a monopod saves me at least a couple of stops of light in low light situations and it can be quickly set up and used. (Also makes a handy hiking stick if you don't have the camera mounted.) If you haven't owned a monopod before, you should try it. You will need to buy a head on top of this if you want to be able to easily pan and swivel the camera. I use the Manfrotto 234RC Swivel Tilt Monopod Head with Quick Release Camera Plate which is about $60 but you can find a ball head head cheaper.
