Description: Manchester, IA Cabinet Card, dated 1887, family of 7 w tired Mom by Walter This family has gathered around for their portrait, and everyone is nicely engaged with the camera.Mom looks a bit weary, but with 4 daughters and a son, she would be, wouldn't she? Below image is printed: "Walter,Manchester, Iowa."Written beneath the photo is "1887." Fading to image. Yellowing to image. Foxing (brown spotting) to photo and card. Card measures about 6.5 x 4.25 inches, photo is about 5.5 x 3.875 inches. My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able. There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.
