Reading has always been her passion, and she co-authored Making Reading Relevant in order to provide a textbook that would help students become better readers. She loved using the textbook with her students because she could see how well the premise of the book worked–teach the basic reading skills, and then have students practice using them by providing interesting and relevant reading materials.
