Description: Made in Portugal, this MacKenzie-Childs Thistle & Bee teapot with lid is simply spectacular. This exquisite piece features hand-applied transfer decoration, including the trademark Childs Courtly Check®, thistle and flowers galore, as well as gold-tone detailing around the top of the pot and spout, throughout the handle and on the lid and finial. It's a bee bonanza, with two on the pot itself and one on the lid. Without the lid on, this glossy beauty has a height of 6 inches. With the lid on, it measures 8 inches high to the top of the finial. From the outside of the handle to the tip of the spout it measures 9.5 inches. The opening of the teapot is 2.5 inches in diameter; the base diameter is about 4.75 inches. This extremely hard-to-find teapot is in exceptional condition: There are no chips and no cracks, and there is no crazing. The only flaws to note are some barely there blotchiness on its golden handle and two slight scratches on the inside of the handle. Otherwise, there are no signs of use at all on this piece.
