Description: This is a SUPER classic piece; lovely pastel motifs of flowers and pine. This is made from some seriously fine and super light silk. It feels almost like gauze and has almost zero weight. I want to say this is a piece for late spring, maybe even early summer; wedding kimono are almost always lined pre-war, even in summer. I additionally say this because the lining IS original; if you look at that white silk, it is OLD and it's identical to the typical red momi just. . .white. It's not the usual for antique kimono to have original white linings, most often they are a sign of replacement, but often hot weather wear *are* lining with white silk because momi bleeds; and well, hot weather means sweat. Also sometimes it was just seen as fashionable; as red linings were already starting to find their way out before the war even kicked off. This one has a few smudges, a few stains, please check the photos. I would say this is a great display piece. It is VERY short, but not too narrow for the era, but does have the condition remarks above. The sleeves have been taken up; but the lining and sleeves are intact inside; there is one sleeve seam that has been unstitched and I was able to verify the condition by taking a peek inside through this convenient peep hole. I don't really make a habit of sewing, so I didn't stitch this up, so small note there. I'll leave it to the kimono's new owner to tack that back up, or let the sleeves out for that dramatic extra long sleeve look. No rips. No tears. No smells.
