Description: Offered here is this rare multiple plate colored etching of El Capitan by Luigi Kashmir (1881-1962) - executed in 1931. This is one of at least two colored etchings he did in the early 1930's from drawings he made at Yosemite. Luigi Kasimir was a renowned Austrian artist who lived in the United States for a period of time in the 1930's - he was a recognized master of the colored etching process using multiple plates. Prior to Kasimir's innovative work, colored etchings were hand colored after the etching was printed,. When making his etchings, Kasimir used up to 6 separate plates, each colored by him and printed one after another on a single piece of paper - this was a very time consuming process. The etching is pencil signed on the bottom in script. There are no tears, stains, signs of fading or other flaws to note. The image size is 16" x 22". This print can be picked-up in central Pennsylvania OR it can be packed and shipped by UPS - if the latter is chosen the packing/shipping is estimated at 75.00 EAST of the Mississippi and 95.00 WEST of the Mississippi - another shipping option is to send it without the glass and frame, cheaper but the frame is nice and will need one anyway - ask the seller about this
