Description: Baroque figure: spinet player. Ludwigsburg. 1763-1793. Height: 6 1/4” Model by Johann Christian Wilhelm Beyer 1763. Colorfully painted, gold painted. Incised marks, crowned double C mark. Sheet of music minimally bumped. Beyer, sculptor and painter, 1759-1767 worked for Duke Carl Eugen von Württemberg. Created numerous models for the manufactory Ludwigsburg, 1768 in Vienna, 1770 court sculptor * Partner auction Bergmann. Literature : Flach (1997) pp. 389, 564. Up for consideration is “Ludwigsburg porcelain figurine”. Featuring hard paste porcelain construction, bright colors, realistic details, ornate painting and classic style. Piece is signed on the bottom (see pictures). Measuring 6 1/4 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/4 inches deep (measurements are approximate). Great antique condition having NO chips, cracks or repairs. Piece DOES have a firing line to the pony tail(see pictures). A great addition to your collection.
