Description: This vintage watercolor painting by Lucelle Raad depicts a dejected little boy sitting with baseball glove and bat. The artwork measures 17 inches in height and 21 inches in width, and has been signed by the artist. The painting was framed and matted by the artist herself. The piece is an original, created using watercolor painting techniques in sepia tones on paper. Lucelle Raad is an award-winning artist whose work is displayed across North America and Europe. She was born in Great Britain, moved to South Africa in her twenties to study painting, then to the United States after she married. She lived first on Long Island, New York, then Sarasota, Florida. Raad has always chosen to depict children at play in her work. This earlier work precedes her well-known series of children in beach scenes. We purchased this painting from Lucelle Raad at an art show on Central Park South, New York City, in 1979. We have always called it “After the Game”, imagining it shows how this little boy feels when a game has not gone well for his team. Seller pays shipping cost within continental United States.
