Illustrated throughout with interior and exterior images of the Auditorium.Adhered to the verso of the cover page is an 8 x 10-inch photograph of the interior of the auditorium with a packed house, the facing page has a circa 1956 list, written in pencil, of the “Crew at the opening of Memorial Auditorium Season 1929-1930”, on its verso is a 1952 newspaper clipping announcing the retirement of the auditorium manager William Camp. Written below the newspaper clipping is notation by Abe D, Newburger about his dear friend Capt. Calvert, superintendent of the auditorium. Newburger was promoted to Superintendent and asst. manager in 1948, he started at the auditorium in 1929 as an advertising agent and doorman. There is a 1956 newspaper clipping about the death of Frank N. Calvert on the next page.There is a 15-page History of the Louisville Memorial Auditorium with several illustrations to include a center-page image of the main auditorium.There is a 2 page “In Memorial to the “Loyal Sons and Daughters of Louisville and Jefferson County Who Made the Supreme Sacrifice”.There is a 1-page list of the Members of Commission of the Louisville Memorial Auditorium also naming Wm. Hoke Camp as Manager.There is 1 page with a newspaper clipping announcing the death of William Hoke Camp and the facing page is a 9 ½ x 5-inch portrait photograph of Mr. Camp.This is an extremely rare copy and will be a wonderful addition to any history of Louisville, KY history book collection.The book measures 9 x 12 ½ inches, illustrated heavy stock printed wrappers, stapled binding, not paginated [30 pages includes covers], light shelf wear to extremities, some faint dappling and discoloration to covers otherwise in very good condition, stapled binding is tight and intact, odor free.
