LOT OF RARE ANTIQUE MILLINERY/HAT MAKING ITEMS. Blocks, Irons, Stretchers & MORE

Description: I inherited these millinery items several years ago. When I got it, none of it worked. The glove iron, the brim iron, the motor for the Luhring lathe, nothing. I decided to do a full restoration on all of it. Everything was disassembled, all of the paint was stripped down to bare cast iron, all cords were removed, as were the heating elements, and electrical contacts. Everything was thoroughly cleaned and primed with self-etching primer. I matched the paint to the original colors, and gave everything a dramatic facelift. I replaced the pulleys for the motor and lathe because they were chipping. I replaced the arm for the brim iron as well as the rubber "Coke bottle" handle. I polished the aluminum, and replaced the screws with brass screws. All cords were replaced with period correct cloth covered wire. I replaced the white incandescent "power on" bulb with a red LED bulb. The motor was completely disassembled, cleaned, stripped, primed, painted, and reassembled with new brushes, as the old ones did not exist anymore. I also got replacement belts. The lathe gearbox was disassembled and thoroughly cleaned, primed and painted. I even wire brushed the screws back to their original sheen. All electrical contacts were replaced, as were the heating elements for both the glove iron and the brim iron. Everything works perfectly now. I've listed some of the before and after pictures. I also have 26 brim blocks, 6 hat blocks that can mount to the lathe, A box that the hat blocks can attach to, and then be attached to the lathe, 2 hat stretchers, an old American Hatters Supply catalog, and a metal piece that attaches to the edge of your table for something. I still don't know what it's for. All of these items are quite old, and now that my restoration is done for everything, I don't really have a place to put it. So, rather than keep it boxed up in plastic totes, I would rather someone actually use these items and keep their life going. I have many more pictures of before and after that I would be glad to send. This lot will need to be shipped by freight because of its size. Or you can do local pickup if you live near Central Kentucky. I can also deliver within a few hundred miles for a fee.
