Description: LOT OF SEVEN OLD PASSENGER CARS PAINTED FOR PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD This listing has been a challenge - these cars seem to predate anything we are familiar with - but we are going to do our best to provide an accurate description. The lot consists of the following:1 pc. Baggage/mail car - decalled #460, die-cast? 1 pc. Combine - decalled #4607, die-cast ? 1 pc. Diner - decalled #1470, see 'Construction Note' below. 2 pcs Coaches - decalled #9925 & #6431, see 'Construction Note' below. 2 pcs Sleepers - decalled 'Chief Red Cloud' and 'Mission Peaks', see 'Construction Note' below. Construction Note Initially it was assumed that all of these cars, except the baggage/mail and combine, were brass or had brass car sides since the thickness of the sides, when viewed from the bottom, was of an appropriate thickness and there were other indications the sides were metal, not plastic. Then we noticed an area of damage on the side of the 'Chief Red Cloud' sleeper. The paint was chipped away and the surface underneath was bright and shiny, like aluminum - this was definitely not brass (see last photos). The same shiny metal surface can be seen here and there on the interior surface of the car sides so we assume they are all made using a the same material. The floors on these cars look to be wood - most of the roofs look like plastic - a majority of the trucks are 'Central Valley'. The last photo is to compare the car side thickness - the lower car is the combine and the upper car is one of the coaches. The photos 2nd and 3rd from the end show the damaged area on sleeper 'Chief Red Cloud'. Sold as-is - no returns. Please email with any questions and thanks for looking.
