Some have slag on them and will need knocked off and sanded or can be left as is - I use a flap disc, you could use a grinder.Some have defects - look at the pictures. Some don't.May have odd shaped small holes. If you have a drill, you can fix them up.Most are 11 gauge thick mild steel and can be welded.
