Description: I have for sale a set of six medal, birthday dollars, for the commemoration of the 1981 200th anniversary of the founding of Los Angeles. They look to be made of nickel, they are 1 1/2 inch in diameter and in original uncirculated condition. They come in a cardboard holder that on the cover reads LOS ANGELES BICENTENNIAL BIRTHDAY DOLLARS. They were designed by John Follis & associates. Each medal (dollar) has a name and they are explained on the inside, to the left of the medals. The names are THE END OF THE RAINBOW, IN CONQUEST OF SPACE, ENTERTAINMENT CAPITAL OF THE WORLD, CITY OF OPPORTUNITY, A CITY ON THE MOVE & YEAR ROUND SPORTS PARADISE. See photos for obverse scenes.
