Description: For auction is a beautiful art glass vase made by Loetz Klostermuehle of Bohemia which is now the modern day Czech Republic. The pattern is called "Metallic Yellow Cytisus" and is highly desirable. It is considered one of the most difficult patterns produced by the artist at Loetz. The vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 4 1/2" tall and has a diameter of 3 3/4" at the bulge at the middle. The bottom of the vase has a diameter of 2 1/4". The very top lip has a diameter of 2 7/8" outside measurement. The vase displays a very pleasing classic Grecian urn shape with three thumbprints or dimples at the shoulder of the vase. It has a nice fire polished and rolled top lip. This vase is wonderfully executed on a clear and a yellow opalescent iridescent background glass. The lower section of the vase has a deep blue graduating to green horizontal waves accented with fine black lines or threads running through the waves. I have seen this decoration described as "Combed Yarn" at some respectable European auction houses in my research. There is also an elongated iridescent oil spot surface treatment to add to the spectacular decoration on this vase. It appears that there may be as many as 4 treatments to achieve this fine pattern. The Cytisus decoration is also called, "Goldrain" and it is among the most beautiful decorations ever created by the glass works Johann Loetz-Witwe Klostermuehle. The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. When held to the light you can see a few inclusions (carbon particles) trapped in the glass. This is typical of early Loetz glass and early glass in general. This piece is unsigned but it does display a counter sunk polished pontil, this is the sign of a quality piece of art glass. There are illegible numbers or letters etched on the outside of the pontil and this is pictured. This is a must for advanced Loetz art glass collectors. This decor color is not that commonly found and is quite sought after. The " Metallic Yellow Cytisus" pattern was created in 1902 and made for only a short period of time. I believe there were no more made after 1904. This is considered an early piece of Loetz and rivals any L.C.T. Tiffany Favrile vase. It is truly amazing that this piece of glass has survived 110 years without any damage. A wonderful piece of European art glass. PLEASE READ BELOWI want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.35% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.35%. This is an increase of 9.45% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.35% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy. CLICK ON THIS LINK BELOW TO SEE MY EBAY STORE CLEMENTS ANTIQUES OF NEW HAMPSHIRE STOREFRONT Please wait for my Invoice before paying.
