Description: Classic 1949 RKO Pictures monster movie (though not really a monster) from King Kong directors Merian Cooper and Ernest Schoedsack starring young Terry Moore who was raised in Africa with her giant gorilla friend Joe, Hollywood brings Joe and Terry out to California to be an attraction that Terry hopes can raise money to save their preserve back home. Mighty Joe does not like being caged up, so he escapes and goes on a rampage in the city, Terry has to save him from being killed. This film is also notable for being the first with special effects from master Ray Harryhausen. Robert Armstrong (also from King Kong), Ben Johnson, Douglas Fowley co-star. Fantastic border art!
