Description: Up for auction we have this Staffordshire children's Alphabet plate with a transfer of a father and son riding a donkey. In great condition with no chips,cracks or repairs but does have some staining on the back. It measures 6 7/8" in diameter and dates circa 1840. This plate is one of several we will be listing that came from the collection of Richard Dennis publisher of the book Gifts For Good Children The History of Children's China 1790 - 1890.
