Lionel 817 Caboose Rare 1935, Red, Nickel and Brass Trim Prewar O gauge X5523

Description: Very rare variation of 8.75” enameled metal caboose is a transition car, made 1935 as Lionel changed from brass to nickel trim. Car is original/complete, has all correct characteristics of 1935 transition production. Finish is light red, has nickel windows and nickel, not silver-painted railings. Lionel Lines and 817 plates are brass. Couplers are manual box type, frame has unused holes for latch couplers. Finish is shiny-clean, has some playwear as shown, mainly roof and near LL plate 1 side, long/thin scratch other side. This is only the 2nd example of this rare car that I have had in 50 years. All Items, including N.O.S. (new-old-stock), are graded and represented as vintage collectibles.
