Description: Lionel #225 Alco Chesapeake & Ohio Diesel and complete O / O27 Freight Train Set __________________________________________________ This is a used Lionel #225 Alco Chesapeake & Ohio diesel locomotive and complete 4 unit 027 freight train set. It is a complete train set and is in very good condition, however, I do not have a set box. This set is made up of post war and modern era components. Included in this sale are the following: 1 - Lionel #225 Chesapeake & Ohio diesel locomotive, with an AC motor, working headlight and lens, decorative horn and a 3 position e unit that allows it to run in forward and reverse directions controlled from the transformer. The 225 was built in 1960. 1 - Lionel #9136 8 wheel Republic Steel gondola with a load of steel rails destined for the blast furnace for recycling. The 9136 was built from 1972 to 1976 and again in 1979. 1 - Lionel #9803 8 wheel Johnson Wax Hi cube boxcar with doors that open and close on both sides. The 9803 was built from 1973 to 1975 1 - Lionel #6017 illuminated 8 wheel SP style caboose. The 6017 caboose was built from 1951 to 1962. 1 - Lionel #1073, 60 watt transformer with a speed control, a 110 volt power cord and a 2 conductor track power cable with a track power connector for connection to the track. The 1073 was built from 1961 to 1966. 8 - Lionel brown tie O27 gauge curved track sections.4 - Lionel brown tie O27 gauge straight track sections. 1 - Standard operating instruction booklet 1 - Track polishing pad I completely assembled the set and tested everything. All parts of the train are in very good condition and it runs great. It does have some minor playwear and the locomotive has had repairs and touch up to the front apron and hood, but nothing that affects the operation of the train. The touch up color is close, but it is hard to match the color on an item that is almost 70 years old. The caboose lighting is not original, it was added at some point, but it works really well.The track does have some light rust and tarnish. I lightly cleaned them, made sure each track has 3 pins and the train runs great on these tracks. Overall, this is a very nice train set and is ready to set up and play with. I do not have original manuals for this set, the operating instruction booklet I am including is simply basic operating instructions and tips.
