I am also a collector of posters myself. Linen backing is a process in which a poster is mounted on acid-free paper and then onto a canvas, thereby preserving and enhancing its condition. This service is ideal for collectors of movie memorabilia and entertainment memorabilia, particularly those who want to restore their posters to their former glory. It is also available for war, travel and circus posters! By linen backing your poster, you can protect it from further damage and increase its value. This service is available for posters from all eras and genres, and we offer : The lowest prices with the highest quality, with quick turnaround. The auction is for a 1-sheet 27x41” (plus or minus 4" per dimension.) We will remove pencil and crayon marks from the poster. tape will be removed, and then the poster will be washed in a deacification bath. If you do not wash the poster, the contaminates are still within the paper fibers of the poster. The poster will then have a light bleaching using a hypo-cal solution, this is not as harsh on paper as chloramine-T, then the paper is PH balanced, to maintain its looks and stop any further damage. It will be mounted on 12oz. Canvas, with acid free Masa paper, and any minor touch ups will be completed with water colors. This is the process I use for my posters, it not only restores the poster but I am using conservation techniques, to make the process fully reversable, and stop any future problems.
