LINDA STEELE ARTIST DOLL-24” BLACK BISQUE GIRL, LE #34/2,500,©SEYMOUR MANN, 1996

Description: Offered here is a large bisque and cloth artist doll of limited edition, designed by noted doll artist Linda Steele and produced by Seymour Mann in 1996. The head, shoulder plate, lower arms and hands and legs are bisque, the body is made of firmly stuffed cloth with wire joints so that the arms and legs may be repositioned. Her long black hair is made of goat wool and the head is made with stationary brown eyes, partially open mouth and pierced ears. She wears a gold-tone full earring in her right ear, but only the wire in the left ear. The back of the head is marked LS (Linda Steele) and the top of the shoulder plate is signed Seymour, Seymour Mann, #34 of 2,500 dolls made, 1996. She is dressed in a beautiful gauzy dress with lots of ribbons, ruffles and lace with light blue cotton underskirt, very fancy half petticoat with ruffled trim and lace trimmed cotton pantalettes. Her white ribbed socks have lace trim and she wears black patent leather Mary Janes with brass buckles and grosgrain ribbon bows on the instep. There is a blue ribbon around her neck from her previous owner that is marked Nominee 1997 but I don’t know what this pertains to – the doll came to me at estate sale and there is no box or paperwork.
