I've never seen anyone who wasn't shocked by how loud these get, which is no surprise they contain the same technology as the Blade and have the closest driver design to the Blade with the sealed suspension design and the radial ribs that flank the back side of the woofer to paradoxically stiffen the diaphragm the more stressed it becomes allowing the distortion levels to remain below 3% at the highest (which means the lowest in terms of tone, 8% is considered excellent). These speakers were designed as prototypes to see what kef could do with completely out of the box thinking and they took that quite literally with a design that is more fit for a one way mission to mars than a speaker. The entire chassis is made of solid metal and aerospace grade materials like self healing silicon rubber for the baffle wave guide designed to smoothen out the sound which gives it the smoothest presentation of any speaker in existence. The voicing for these speakers were the basis for the later LS50s which borrowed some but not all of the tech such as the constrained layer damping, to the attempt to create a baffle as inert as the one used on these, they couldn't afford to implement the fin like rib structure so opted for stamped aluminum instead which meant they also couldn't apply the sealed suspension system so the LS50 though the sound may seem similar and due to the lather box can okay deeper, sounds raspier and tinnier especially at louder volumes. These sound consistently smooth from 0 to 100 and can fill any room which will shock fiends at any party for sure. I have a pair of black ones too that I call my panthers since they blend into the background and look like they just absorb and shimmer the lighting with the soft velvet facade but as soon as I turn them on they roar in 3D immersing the entire room like tjeyfe everywhere at once. These are perfected as needed, kef even lists them as the representation of Gen 7 AND Gen 8 due to how much revolutionary they are. They're designed with so much precision the shape isn't merely an oval but is precisely the ratio of PHI to allow for harmonics to all refracted down to an irreducible number while there are no perpendicular lines or straight edges to create any unwanted sounds at all. The speakers are holographic machines. I swear with just two you'll be able to hear not just all around you but above and even behind your left or right shoulder. When my wife first heard them it spooked her out and she was amazed. I am only selling these even though I got these for being a kef super fan because I owe my wife a honeymoon and I've always been too poor to give her a decent one. I have another pair of black ones so I'm okay with just having that, I don't need to collect things. I need tm grow up. These are very very nice speakers though and for the entire package it's worth every penny. The stands are awhile other story and manage to add even more harmonics to the sound and upgrade the sound to floor standers. I have the LS50s and as you've probably seen on the web there are people who wonder why these sound better than the LS50s. Not all of them do, but the ones that do very much do. And these are precision matched as you can tell by the tangerine wave guide fins. I have the white feet too, I'll pull them out of the box and take pictures of them.
