Description: This is an original, early stock certificate: Inmobiliaria de Teatros y Cinemas, S. A. Inmobiliaria de Teatros y Cinemas S.A., originally known as Empresa de Teatros y Cinemas, S.A., was a Lima-based company that managed and operated various theaters and cinemas in Peru. Founded in the early 20th century, it played a significant role in the development of cinema culture in the country. Some of its prominent cinemas included the Cine Francisco Pizarro and the Teatro Colón, which hosted both theatrical performances and, later, film screenings. The company was involved in managing real estate properties for these cultural venues and eventually shifted its focus to cinemas exclusively in the mid-20th century. The company had a significant presence until the 2000s when many of its properties either closed down or were repurposed. The Teatro Colón, for instance, was declared a national monument but fell into disrepair and was auctioned off in 2004. As of the early 2000s, the company appears to have become inactive, with its legal status changed to “no habida” (untraceable) by 2007. DATE: Issued in 1961 CONDITION: Generally clean with stamp cancellations, has punch holes at the top and a small edge tear at the top-center. GUARANTEED ORIGINAL - NO REPRODUCTIONS!
