Description: Ground shipping is free for the United States. This old lamp is 11" tall to the top of the socket. It looks like it was converted to electric in the 50's or so, as it has a very unique switch on the cord that I've never seen before. I can confirm that it works, but all the parts look old. It comes on immediately using the switch, and then it has to double click to turn off, even though you only press it once. If you plan to rewire it, I would give you $5 back if I could cut the cord and keep the switch for my collection of vintage lighting parts. The part that holds the (missing) chimney is bent, and would need to be bent back in order to safely hold one. The top unscrews, but it can't be removed due to being held in by the cord, which looks like it is held inside the milk glass base with some type of cement (see photo from the underside). It would be best to redo all of the electric parts if you plan to use it. The good news is that the cranberry and milk glass parts have no chips (that I can see). The milk glass base has some lines in the glass left over from when it was made. The cranberry glass has some "divots" or creases in the glass at the very top, also from when it was made. Another thing I want to point out is a lot of dried glue underneath the brass piece where it connects to the milk glass. I can feel that it's loose, and can only guess that possibly something is wrong with the connection point, and they had to use glue when they converted it to electricity. It could also be hiding a chip at the top of the milk glass.
