Description: I'm currently listing a large number of playbills from out-of-town tryouts prior to the Broadway runs. Many are from early performances when revisions were common and include song titles that were cut before opening in New York. (See cut songs below.) ....... This is a rare January 16th, 1962 "On Stage" playbill from the two-week, Pre-Broadway engagement of Leonard Sillman's "NEW FACES OF '62" at the Cass Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. (The show would open February 1st, 1962 at the Alvin Theatre in New York City and close after only 28 performances.) ..... The ensemble cast included TOM ARTHUR, CHARLES BARLOW, R. G. BROWN, JOEY CARTER, JIM CORBETT, JUAN CARLOS COPES, MICHAEL FESCO, TRAVIS HUDSON, HELEN KARDON, PATTI KARR, SYLVIA LORD, ERIN MARTIN, MARIAN MERCER, JAMES MOORE, MARIA NIEVES, SYLVIA, JOAN THORNTON and MICKEY WAYLAND ..... Includes a review by the Associated Press' William Glover clipped from an unidentified newspaper ..... CUT SONGS: The list of musical numbers includes "Ballad of a Bus" and "I Was Beautiful" which were cut in Detroit ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a light vertical crease, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
