Description: Enrique Ledesma was well respected and well schooled in sculpture and lapidary. He worked or apprenticed under the guidance of William Spratling and Hector Aguilar. He opened his own shop c 1950. The shapes used on this brooch reflect his skills. There is a good sized faceted triangular piece of blue Lapis Lazuli that makes the focus of this pin. The sterling swirls away from the point and swings back to connect with the brooch. Very vintage modern. Surface of the Lapis Lazuli is polished but not highly. A couple of scratches to the silver. Stamped on the back Ledesma Taxco Hecho en Mexico 925 20. Photographed in as found estate condition, minor wear from age and use, will be gently hand polished prior to shipping. Approx 2”l x 1 3/8” w, 19.4g Including Free Shipping with USPS Ground Advantage!
