Description: From John Stanley Antique Tools - AWESOME!! Antique harness maker leather worker bench stand with vise. We have had several leather working vise / stand combinations over the years, but never one as nice as this one. Quality construction. Square nails. We are dating this as pre 1880. Superb old red paint with wear consistent with age. As shown, the left side of the tray has an old glue repair. The right side of the tray has a slotted metal insert with a screw that moves in an arc when the foot pedal is pushed. This screw hole was wallowed out and the screw was replaced with a longer screw. The original screw had a flat end which is the standard for wood screws made prior to 1880. The foot pedal is pushed to open the jaws. This has an overall height of 30". The base measures 15 3/4" x 10 3/4". The table top is 25 1/4" high. The total front to back measurement is 17 3/4".
