This wonderfully sculptural freestanding piece has been masterfully hand carved from one solid piece of timber and spectacularly decorated with a tradition hand painted Scandinavian design rendered in vibrant colours atop a rich teal blue body. SIZE: This impressive Dala horse stands approx 12" tall, measures 12" in length and 3.5" wide. WEIGHT: This substantial piece weighs 1.4 kgs. CONDITION: This piece is presented in very good vintage condition, with a small spot of superficial wear to one tip of the horses ears as indicated in the images. The varnish has yellowed with age adding an appealing mellow patina to this authentically vintage example. This piece has been well cared for and presents magnificently. MARKS: Two original labels remain in place to the belly. A gold foil label reads "Akta Dalahemslojd Made in Sweden" and a second label reads "Made in Sweden". An outstanding addition to any vintage Dala horse, Swedish folk art or Scandinavian design collection!
