The fairytale “The Little Humpbacked Horse” 1834. In one village lives a peasant. He has three sons: the eldest, Danilo, is smart, the middle one, Gavrilo, is "this way and that way," and the youngest, Ivan, is a fool. The brothers earn their living by growing wheat, taking it to the capital and selling it there. Suddenly, disaster strikes: someone starts trampling the crops at night. The brothers decide to take turns keeping watch in the field to find out who it is. The eldest and middle brothers, frightened by the cold and bad weather, leave their watch without finding out anything. When it is the turn of the youngest brother, he goes to the field and sees a white mare with a long golden mane appear at midnight.
