Description: Although this beautiful bowl is not stamped with the Pickard hallmark it is likely from that company. The maker of the bowl is T & V France as the hallmark on the bottom shows. Pickard had blank porcelain pieces sent to their factory in Chicago, IL and the pieces were then decorated by skilled artists, many from the Chicago Art Institute. The outside of this bowl is a deep brick red color while the inside is a light golden cream. Currants, leaves and vines are hand painted around the interior of the bowl and the artist has signed the painting with the signature "Leroy". The inner rim of the bowl has a wide gilt band that is painted with sweeping flourishes. The sturdy base also has a band of gilt. The bowl is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, scratches or crazing. A clear bell sound is made when it is tapped. A bowl that would be a showpiece in any cabinet or table.
