Description: An 8 3/8 inch wide ORIGINAL ANTIQUE advertising plate from TACOMA WASHINGTON with a picture of the city of TACOMA in 1883 with Clipper Ships and LARGE MT RAINIER looming in the background. This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE plate, ca. late 1800s - early 1900s, though dated 1883. Caption of picture reads: "Tacoma in 1883. / MAHNCKE & CO / PIONEER JEWELERS / ESTABLISHED, 1883". Note that Tacoma was still part of "Washington Territory" in 1883. Back reads: "STERLING CHINA" with a picture of a crown. Condition: Plate is in good solid condition. It has overall glaze checking/crazing (in glaze surface only) which is not a detraction from value but a testimony to its age. NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. PLEASE NOTE that the plate HOLDER is NOT part of this sale, it is just used to prop the plate up for photo'ing.
