Description: Antique Map of Fossebridge / Coln St Dennis - pub. 1884 Cotswolds / Gloucestershire LARGE 73x107cm--Stunning rare antique map from 1884 (surveyed in 1882) of villages on The Fosse Way in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire - the part of the Roman road between Cirencester and Warwickshire. It features villages of Fossbridge (now with the 'e' is Fossebridge) and Coln St Dennis. The map is the coloured version. There's lots of text around the map including: TOP LEFT : COLN ST DENNIS CHEDWORTH COLN ROGERS & STOWELL PARISHESTOP RIGHT : GLOUCESTERSHIRE (Eastern Division) Sheet XLIV.1 It is very much in 'as found' condition with lots of wear to the edges and several small tears, though only one breaches the main map. There is also discolouration around the edges but the main main is still nicely clean, all things considered, with the colouring of the buildings and waterways still vivid. It is printed on heavy paper. Please note this is a flat 'sheet' OS map and so has never been folded-up like a retail OS map. A rarity. This really is a super thing and will look stunning when framed. It is large A0 size and over 1m in length. We will send rolled. Please see photos and do ask any questions.
