Description: This is a lot of small nice Blue pieces of lapis. Some golden yellow pyrite and very minor marble matrix. 10 pieces. Weigh 50 grams. I am a Professional gem cutter and have been cutting Lapis Lazuli for over 30 years. We are closing out our store and have a number of Lapis gem rough specimens available. Photographed front, backside and side and coated with water, shows the polished color better. Many pieces are marked with their weight and price. The Lapis Lazuli, golden pyrite and white marble all take a good polish. Many pieces are butt ends being the last piece in the vice after being slabbed for use which was cut into gems. This Lapis Lazuli comes from the Sar-e-Sang District in the Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan. I have obtained this Lapis from an Afghanistan dealer that I have met with at the Tucson Show more than 25 times. Lots of LOW quality Lapis is offerred on Ebay. Please compare weight and quality ( to cut gems) when you buy Lapis Lazuli. Most of the pieces listed have been cut/Slabbed and the cracks and fractures maybe seen- in most cases the pieces have been reduced to pieces without cracks ready for gem cutting.
