Description: Up for bid is a beautiful vintage Christmas postcard. On the front is a lovely lithographic illustration of a lakeside village in the evening. What makes this card very special is that when you hold it up to a lighted lamp, the light shows through the windows of the village, the crescent moon above, and the beautifully printed greeting above that. (see supersized image 1). If you look closely you can see how the windows, the greeting and moon have been die cut to allow for the illumination. This very special hold-to-light postcard has been posted, and has a 1906 cancellation across the British stamp on its divided back. When you supersize image 2 you can read the beautifully printed greeting on the back. What a lovely, unique and scarce 110 year-old postcard!
