This famous history of Spain, apart from being a magnificent work, contains important numismatic information that was highly valued in its time. Modesto Lafuente was the architect of Spanish national history, the one who structured the way of organizing the history of Spain conceived as a nation whose existence was rooted in a peninsular territory that marked its personality as a people. Until Lafuente there was only one history of the kings, made by Father Mariana at the edge of the 17th century, full of myths, fables and interested versions of dynastic conflicts. Lafuente cleared history of all this, creating the foundations for modern Hispanic historiography. Book in Spanish GENERAL HISTORIES OF SPAIN AND ESSAYS ON ITS HISTORY IN GENERAL.
