Description: The price is high for a good reason. This is an ultra-rare tunable stabilized red HeNe laser. New cost in the year made maybe $15K. Among the best frequency stabilized lasers made, by hand. SN 25. Here is an ultra-rare tunable stabilized HeNe laser made by Laboratory for Science in December 1990, serial number 24. The design of these lasers provides superior frequency stability to any modern commercial products. The lasers were hand made by one man over a period of a couple weeks and the base model 200 sold for around $10K in 1990 dollars! This is a model 210 which has a 10 turn pot on the rear for the user to tune the laser wavelength; this is an internal adjustment on the Model 200 base laser. The laser is stamped 3.2 mW when new and I have seen 3.15 mW so the tube is quite healthy. The laser was checked out by Dr. Sam Goldwaser at Sam's laser FAQ and found to be in excellent condition. This is the best Laboratory for Science laser I have seen-very close to new power. The selector switch on the front has 3 positions, beam blocked, single frequency output (1.38 mW) or dual mode output (3.12 mW). A copy of the manual will be provided; the owner should read the operating instructions at least once. :) This is a real Laser Jock Stabilized HeNe and very rare to find especially outputting near new power. The best one you will find! Free shipping to the USA!
