Description: La Bastarda by K.M. Guerin Doña Constanza Enríquez de Castilla may be the daughter of a claimant to the throne, but she will never be a princess. The product of her fathers dalliance with a young French girl, she has never been welcome in the eyes of his wife and legitimate heirs, who see her as a threat to the safety of their inheritance and a thief of their fathers love. Lonely and kept on hand as a servant, Constanza grows up right in the middle of one of the most turbulent times of a monarchy: the beginning of a dynasty. While she worries for her beloved fathers physical and emotional health and tries in vain to avoid the wrath of his queen, she finds herself making friends and falling in love, but how will she deal with the highs and lows that come with such relationships - and how will she come to terms with the greatest betrayal she could have never imagined? In the royal court, the games of Fate mean anyone can rise or fall at the royal will; does Constanza really want to play, or is she content to simply remain LA BASTARDA? FORMAT Paperback LANGUAGE English CONDITION Brand New Author Biography By the time she was three years old, K.M. Guerin had already worn out two VHS copies of the movie "The Little Mermaid", and was well onto ruining a third. Throughout her life, the same all-in, borderline-obsessive passion would remain constant, whether it was for writing, singing, or the Cheshire Cat. She first grew interested in the Middle Ages during her time in high school theatre, due to the overwhelming love of the local Renaissance Faire by her peers. While preparing for her first visit, she picked up a Tudor historical fiction novel by Philippa Gregory to help get into character. Before she finished the very first chapter of the book, she knew she had found her literary "home". Devouring stories about England, France, and even Germany, she couldnt help but notice the distinct typecasting of Spain as the one-dimensional "Big Bad": the dark and crooked Phillip II of "Elizabeth: The Golden Age", the smiling betrayals of Charles I of "The Tudors", even the use of the Dowdy Spanish Wife trope sparked a curiosity in her mind, and thus, THE TRASÁMARA SERIES was born. K.M. Guerin has lived in Michigan (USA) her entire life, with her husband, son, and Boomer-dog. When not writing or spending time with her family, she enjoys reading, baking, Tim Hortons, watching the Red Wings, and pretending the dishes in the sink dont exist.
