For details, please consult customer service 1/100 World War I German Dreadnought Class Battleships The Battleship Scharnhorst Yellow The SMS Scharnhorst was the first ship of two Scharnhorst class armored cruisers built by the German Navy in the early 20th century. Construction began in January 1905 and it entered service in October 1907. The ship and its sister ship Gneisenau were equipped with eight 210mm 40 caliber rapid fire main guns, four of which were mounted on two twin turrets, one at each end of the hull, and the remaining four were mounted on single wing turrets. And can sail at a maximum speed of 22.5 knots. The Scharnhorst briefly served with the High Seas Fleet in 1908. In 1909, it was assigned to the East Asia Fleet stationed in Qingdao, China and became the flagship of the fleet upon arrival.
