Description: Kristall Mundgeblasen Lausitzer Glas Crystal Decanter w/ matching Cordials ~ Made in GDR Description: Exquisite 8 piece mouth blown serving set with an intricate hand cut floral motif on the decanter as well as on each individual glass. Please study the images as my description does not due the artisan justice. Finding a complete set from the GDR is rare enough, in MINT condition... almost unheard of. Capacity: Decanter - 4 cups / 32 fl oz (0.95 liter) Glasses - 2 fl oz each Interesting fact: The "German Democratic Republic" (GDR), or Communist East Germany, ceased to exist at midnight on October 3rd 1990. It was neither democratic, nor was it a republic. It was a dictatorship in which there were no free elections, no division of powers, and no freedom of movement. Millions of Germans lived in Communist East Germany for 40 years. Condition: Although an estate item, this set is in pristine, MINT condition in every manner. There are NO chips, cracks, nicks, fleabites, scratches, stains or any other cosmetic / structural issues on any of the eight pieces. In fact, there is no indication it was ever used for anything other than display purposes.
