In great vintage shape, views are superb now that haze producing film was eliminated from the internals. Sides of all four genuine Japanese Bak-4 prisms blackened. As well, the doublets of the oculars were also blacked. Single coated, they are as bright as any B&L Mk-28 I've peered through, but are much lighter than that classic Navy bino that also sports Individual Focus eye pieces. However, we used lighter damping grease on this set so that one can easily spin the eye pieces with one's thumbs whilst they are up being used. With practice, they are just slightly slower to focus than a Center Focus bin, and are much more dust and moisture proof. Which is why most militaries still prefer IF to CF. Few, if any, cleaning marks, but the right objective does show a tiny cluster of off axis... dings. So tiny, one would never notice them had I not pointed them out. And of course such does naught to effect outstanding views. One can place a 1/4" square of black tape on a front lens and the human eye won't notice! Too close to focus. I conditioned the chassis that has one small round chip, left side, where the frame took a hit. I painted it with black enamel, as a precaution, so as to prevent further chipping around the edges, even though said edges looked and felt firm. We dumped the original dry rotted leather carry strap and added a strong vinyl one with bright metal barbell keepers in lieu of fragile plastic ones. The case isn't original, but is from the same era and in good overall shape, missing its carry strap. It closes and protects the optic as intended. Last photo shows the neat, military issue ocular rain guard and strong brown vinyl carry strap we added. The strap held on with brite metal barbell keepers.
