Description: 01/W (zero one double) is the model number and model name of a synthesizer released by Korg in 1991. OverviewIt employs Ai Square synthesis, a PCM sound source system. It had the basic functions of a synthesizer, and also had "wave shaping," a synthesizing method unique to the 01/W that could add overtones to the original PCM waveform by AM modulation, which was useful for creating noisy sounds. It was also equipped with a high-performance sequencer, making it possible to perform everything from sound creation to mixing with a single 01/W. It was called a music workstation and was used by famous musicians all over the world. It used NEC's V50 as its main CPU.
