This is a Beautiful example of a Very early "The Eastman Dry plate & Film Co." - Believed to be the "Interchangeable View Camera" in the Extremely Rare 5x8 size. This early view camera shows the markings for "W.H. Walmsley co. Phila." On the bed, making this camera between 1884-early 1890 because of the Walmsley markings (distributor in Philadelphia ) before their name change in 1890.. This wood large format camera has a classic design with a nice construction, brass hardware, a black leather bellows, and a removable 5" extension rail (matching 815 serial number) too. It folds up nice and compact for travel and storage and offers a front geared focus, front rise, rear tilt and rear swing movements and has a very pretty look. This camera set comes exactly as shown and looks to be in fantastic condition (especially for its age) showing light signs of cosmetic wear from use/age and appears to work well . All movements look to work properly; the geared focusing is easy to control, The knobs all work and lock down properly. The bellow are pliable with some pinholes and area thinning/slits. The camera has a nice looking ground glass showing some oxidation light marks -easy to view. The lens board is in good condition showing a few center stress cracks and a few previous lens ring holes. With the camera comes a W.I. Chadwick Manchester 5 in. water house stop type brass lens. . The glass looks Very nice with No scratches, No fungus, light dust The built in water house stop apertures work properly at all positions. This lens properly fits the retaining ring on the lens board.
