Description: Want to wear your magatama as a necklace? The easiest way is to string it straight onto a piece of cord, but that tends to make the magatama a bit shy, so that its legendary "curved jewel" shape is only visible from the side. However, when knotted onto a cord as shown here, the magatama will relax and feel safe, showing itself off to everyone around you. This listing is for the service of tying one of my magatama onto a ~1m piece of satin cord with a secure decorative knot, creating a necklace as shown in the first picture. It does not include any magatama itself-- they must be bought separately as part of the same shipment. (This is also why this listing's solo shipping cost is set to discourage people from trying to buy it by itself-- a substantial shipping discount kicks in when other items are added.) The listing does include the satin cord, of which I have the four colors shown in the second picture: dark green, black, navy blue, and wine-red (tell me which color you want). If you already have a magatama at home or just prefer a simpler look, I have a lower-priced listing for a plain piece of cord. To fit onto the 2mm diameter of this cord, the magatama should be one of my larger ones, i.e. any of the ones that *aren't* labeled "small" or "smallish" (unless you also get a silver pendant ring for the small(ish) magatama). For size reference, the wine-red cord has a rose quartz magatama in my default average size, and the black cord has a long fluorite magatama. Each necklace uses about one yard/meter of cord. I don't know what the satin is made of, but it's probably polyester or rayon, not silk. I usually tie off each end of the cord as shown on the red cord. If the ends are left loose, as shown on the black cord, they'll eventually start to unravel, though this can be controlled into an attractive soft tassel by tying a knot near (instead of at) each end. (Or you can heat-seal each end into a hard blackened tip if you really want to-- a second or two against an electric stove burner or in a flame should do it, but don't breathe the fumes) . Please check my other listings for more pretties, and thanks for looking! ^_^
