The cat is German Silver, the sky is copper and the moon is brass. All are highly polished, reflective and shiny. The earrings are ⅝ inch in diameter and hang 1-½ inches below your ear including the hook. About German Silver…In 1823, a competition was launched in Prussia to create a metal alloy which, when polished, would have the same appearance as silver. The result is the metal we now call German Silver, known in Mexico as Alpaca. Alpaca is frequently used to make silver jewelry in Mexico. Around the world it has many uses including musical instruments, cutlery, silverware and zippers.
