Description: SALE ST. LUCIA'S DAY GOWN--St. Lucia's Day is a very special family celebration marking the beginning of the Christmas season (along with Advent). One girl in the family enters the room with a crown of candles, singing traditional St. Lucia's songs, with a tray of special buns for the family. This dress is on sale because the supplier lied to us. He refused to admit he had ANY dresses with red stains under the ribbons. Later he offered full overseas boxes of these dresses for sale on his website and PUT IN PRINT that they had stains under the ribbons. We washed, bleached, oxygen-bleached and finally denture-cleaned (a trick i learned from a used chenille seller back in the seventies) these dresses and finally got a few with extremely light stains on front. The dress is marked down accordingly. We do not have an iron small enough to iron them properly and they'd get wrinkled again in transit to you, anyway. We have replaced the sash with a new red ribbon stored in a separate plastic bag so it can never cause a problem. The socks are NOT included. This is a traditional dress for Kirsten for the occasion. A reproduction! (Mattel does not wholesale the American Girl line.) Included are: Long white twill (nice weight) dress with trim around the sleeves and hem and a long red sash to tie around the waist. You can add socks and our Best Quality St. Lucia's Wreath, as well as our Tray, to go with this adorable set. (The other wreath out there is metal. Thick. Not sure how you would attach it. We have a hard time keeping ours in stock.
