Description: This is a signed letter by Kim Borg (1919–2000),a Finnish bass singer, teacher and composer. Borg had a smooth, powerful, expressive voice, and excelled at singing the works of Mussorgsky. (NOTE: an old clip of Borg singing Mussorgsky's "The Song of the Flea" can be found on YouTube.) Borg is best known for his singing, but he was also the composer of many vocal and orchestral works, including two symphonies. The letter is dated August 12, 1963. It istyped, with some handwritten additions,on a sheet of Borg's stationery, with hisname printed at the top left corner (see scan). The letter was written in the town of Humlebæk,Denmark; the same town where Borg was to die 37 years later. The letter is addressed to a well-known autograph collector, Roy Pitts, of Anniston, Alabama. The letter contains quite a lot of biographicalinformation, including a list of some of themajor roles that Borg had performed, such as Boris Godunov, Don Giovanni, Mephisto, etc. The letter is in good condition, with creases and some edgewear.
