It worked very well it seems. Another variety that emerged from these efforts is Kikyo Roseflakes. It is different from Kikyo Rose by the way it produces its pattern through its life. Kikyo Snowflakes exhibits a blizzard pattern about midway through its life that Kikyo Rose does not have, but Kikyo Roseflakes has picked up that habit as you can see by the striking lines and streaks on some of the blooms, all on the same vine. This habit is very easily seen in Kikyo Snowflakes which starts out basic blue with white spokes, then becomes more elaborate with blizzard streaks and varying shades of blue as it matures, then returns to basic blue later.
