Walter Owen Gait served under the alias of ‘W. O. Ross’. He was born in Peel, on the Isle of Man in January 1886. Gait resided in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. He served during the Great War with the 47th Battalion, Canadian Infantry on the Western Front. Private Gait was killed in action during the attack SW of Lens, 22 August 1917.
