Description: Originally created in 1941 by Harold Forster, an artist noted for his illustrations on pre-war Black Magic chocolate boxes, Keep Mum She's Not so Dumb is typical of Second World War British propaganda attempts to instill caution in the public through humorous, memorable slogans, rather than through fear-inducing images of spies and saboteurs. Today, of course, this particular slogan appears rather chauvinistic. This unframed reprint measures approximately 29” x 20” with the title and text integrated and placed in the lower quarter, in black and in red. image: a three-quarter length depiction of an attractive woman, reclining on a chair and looking directly out of the poster. She is surrounded by three entranced officers, representing the Army, Navy and RAF. The text: Keep mum she's not so dumb! CARELESS TALK COSTS LIVES! Reprinted by permission of the Controller of her Majesty’s Stationary office .Printed in Great Britain - Plaistow Pictorial Crown Copyright 1990 This would make a great addition to your collection!
