It's a Keeley El Rey Eldordo and it is a good one. We've all heard of Keeley pedals. They build a wide variety of effects. All are tone machines, using quality parts and built like tanks. I've owned many and still own a few. This is your go to pedal for those classic plexi, British flavored overdrive tones. This pedal has all the volume and gain you would ever need. Featuring two distinct clipping modes for vintage or modern gain structures, the Keeley El Rey Dorado overdrive pedal delivers the classic grind of the most iconic British Plexi amplifiers, the JTM 45/100 stack to get that vivacious character just right. In Low Power mode, you'll find an old-school tone with more headroom and girth. In High Power mode, you'll find more compression, more harmonics, and a more defined tone. Also, because the Level control goes above unity, many guitarists like using the Keeley El Rey Dorado as a boost pedal too. I know you're gonna love this pedal as much as I do. Yes, there is a wide range of 1960s Plexi Amp Tone in terms of power, tubes installed, speakers, and/or cabinet used, but this hits the core-tone bullseye. One of the many reference points for the tone was my own JTM 45/100 full stack. It’s a dead-on reissue Marshall did with crazy cool custom-made vintage recreation speakers and dual transformers to transfer the load of the 4 EL-84s. The El Rey covers a lot of Classic British Amp tones by featuring two gain modes with the Power Toggle. With the Power Toggle switch you have control over the compression and harmonics. Low Power mode is louder, has more girth, and has fewer harmonics for that older school tone. The High-Power mode has more compression, more harmonics and a tighter, more defined tone. Old school crunch in Low Power mode, super lead tones in the High-Power mode.
